How I love this time of year! Creating garden pots, finding new flowers to plant and seeing the gardens come to life again! I am definitely in my element.

Lately, my obsession is succulents! They lend themselves to all sorts of interesting containers.

How charming to plant a succulent in a vintage wooden spool! I LOVE it!

Or a antique marmalade jar!

The sky is the limit creating your miniature succulent garden.  Simply add a layer of tiny stones, found at the dollar store or an aquarium supply center. Next add a layer of potting soil, the succulents and I added moss around the plants.

Water and fertilize once a week during the spring to fall. They like sunlight but prefer not to be out in direct sun outside, perhaps a covered porch.

Enchanting Vermont

I adore quaint towns, with their history and charm.  Seeking them out when traveling is something I enjoy and Vermont is chock full of quaintness.

This past weekend, my family was invited to spend a long weekend in bucolic Vermont.  Since we all enjoy skiing/boarding, we have been fortunate to have visited Vermont for the past several years, but this time we stayed with new friends at a lovely 1840 farmhouse rather than a Bed and Breakfast.

Vermont is amazing and unlike any state I have visited.  It takes a while to get from point A to point B, so don't be in a hurry! And as you travel the winding country roads,  there generally will be a babbling brook to one side and majestic mountains peaks all around!

Vermont is generally unspoiled by commercialism. As you travel along the picturesque countryside, a charming village will appear, each with a white church and it's towering steeple, perhaps a wonderful cafe or market, not to mention covered bridges!

 I have explored Burlington, Chester, Ludlow and Queechee Gorge Area. Visited King Arthur Flour and the fun Vermont Country Store.  One of my favorite places is the Stone House Antique Center where I love to treasure hunt!

In addition, I have just discovered yogurt by the Vermont Yogurt Company... wish I had bought a case of this delish yogurt topped with fantastic granola. How do I get my hands on more of this stuff?

Ahh... Vermont you have refreshed my spirit!
